As of Dec. 31, 2013, $10,480 has been raised to place two iPad minis in each elementary classroom. A total of $14,400 is needed to complete the project. Donations have come from individual donors, the Kimball and Fairhaven Lions clubs, Kimball American Legion, the Kimball Teachers Union, and from fundraisers held at the elementary school.
Retired teacher Dode Klein was on hand at the fish fry. In addition to the field trip fundraiser, donations were being accepted
The annual KES fish fry drew an exceptionally large crowd Friday evening, Jan. 3, to Generations Ballroom. The annual fundraiser is for fifth- and sixth-grade class field trips. This year, donations were accepted for Evelyn Stone, the 16-month-old granddaughter of retired KES teacher Dode Klein. The winds were howling, and temps were dropping faster, but 474 people came out for the fish fry and benefit. Thank you to all the students, teachers and parents who worked hard to make this a success, and to Generations Ballroom for their staff and facilities. Staff photo by Jean Doran Matua.
