Meet the Teacher - Nancy Bonnifield

Class/Grade/Subject(s): Business Education & District Curriculum Director

My family: Husband Jerry, and kids Eli9, Evelyn 6, AJ 2.Nancy Bonnifield-bw

I grew up in: East Chain, Minn.

My high school: GHEC (Granada-Huntley-East Chain).

College: B.A. at Bethel University, M.Ed. at U of M.

Non-academic life achievements: My greatest achievement is successfully raising three Godly and respectful children.

My favorite school experience (as a student): I participated in Teacher/Student switch day and got to be the principal for a few hours.

My favorite school experience (as a teacher): There is nothing better than alumni taking time to come back to say "thanks." When that happens, it's proof that I made an impact.

Something most people don't know about me: I am a "tomboy," but am enjoying my new hobby of sewing. Also, I can type over 70 words per minute (which is good because my handwriting is getting worse as I age).

KES Student Government going strong

Kimball Elementary School is proud to announce the Student Government members for the 2013-2014 school year. The sixth graders include Bailee Schiefelbein, Tori Harren, W-KES-Student-Government-283Justice Boyer, and Brian Binsfeld. The new fifth-graders include Andrea Jendro, Natalee Kunkel, Alex Nelson, and Naomi Bollman. The student government members are the role models of the school and are students who will do their best academically.

The group organizes special fund raisers to raise money for local organizations, the school, and global areas as well. In the past we have held hat days, and dress-up contests, sold pencil supplies, and also tallied Gohmann’s receipts to earn “free” equipment for KES. Last year, we counted more than $190,000 in receipts, and earned a great deal of school items for KES. We also hold a big food drive in the spring, and all food items are donated to the Kimball Area Food Shelf. This year we will also be working with the Kimball Area High School Student Government to raise money for Kids Against Hunger.
