We actually have a week with no snow in the forecast! We knew it had to happen sooner or later as the sun angle is getting just too high for snow to keep popping up in our forecast.
On Monday of this week we started things off with high temperatures in the 60s and even lower 70s. A few spotty showers did pop-up in the afternoon heat across mainly in Central Minnesota.
Tuesday, things were much the same as high pressure dominated our weather with highs again in the 70s in most locations. A few thunderstorms returned by Tuesday night.
Look for a lingering chance of showers and thunderstorms for Wednesday into Wednesday night as an upper-level low advances across Minnesota.
Drier weather will return for Thursday, but then another cold front will move across the Upper Midwest that could bring some showers and thunderstorms for Friday into Friday night.
Notice, I didn’t say anything about snow for a change! Maybe the shovels and snow blowers can be put away for the season...
Enjoy the mild temperatures!
Weather history: On this date in 1954, cold temperatures were found across Greater Minnesota as overnight lows dropped into the teens and twenties. The Cass Lake area, for example, dipped to a chilly 26 degrees!
Weather fact: A light wind is called a “zephyr.” Many poets use the term to describe the gentlest of breezes.
