The Watkins Senior Citizens plan their Christmas Party for Wednesday, Dec. 4, at St. Anthony Manor. Social hour is 5:30 p.m., and chicken dinner with all the trimmings will be served 6 p.m. You will need to let them know if you are attending. The price is $7 per member, and $8 for non-members.

The Senior Citizens would be interested in having new members join their club, so please sign up for the Christmas Party, they can collect your dues for the next year. Dues are $2 per year.
Every year millions of people lovingly pack shoe boxes full of gifts and supplies and give them to Operation Christmas Child. They are then delivered to needy children around the world. For the first time in the 20 years of this project we have a local drop off site in the area, River Of Life church in Cold Spring. National Collection Week is Monday, Nov. 18, through Monday, Nov. 25. Shoe boxes can be dropped off at the following times:

The Catholic Order of Foresters will have Bouja and Chicken Noodle Soup for sale Sunday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins.
The Assumption parish in Eden Valley held an All Saints Celebration during mass Friday, Nov. 1.
Forty-one youth in the parish volunteered to dress as saints and be introduced during the Mass.
Fr. Jerome Naduvathaniyil officiated.
The St. Augusta Lions will have their Fall breakfast from 8-11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Parish Center in St. Augusta.
On the menu are sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, oven-fried potatoes, fruit, fresh-baked rolls, and beverages. Cost is a free-will donation.
