St. Anthony’s 125th Anniversary Pictorial Directory – Sign Up Today

Jan. 1, 2014, the Church of St. Anthony in Watkins will begin it’s year long recognition of its 125th anniversary. One important event is the new pictorial directory. Life Touch Directories will be doing the photography and production of the new books. This is a special directory as it will mark the 125th Anniversary of St. Anthony Church. It will have photographs depicting the early life of St. Anthony Church, as well as those of today’s parish life. We encourage all of our parishioners to make an effort to be included in this important project. Parishioners can register for a photo session by going to St. Anthony’s webpage at stanthonywatkins.com. Just click on the Life Touch Sign Up icon. There is no cost to participate, and everybody will get a free 8x10 photo as well as a free directory.

Beginning in January, look for occasional articles on the church’s history. We will also have a special 2014 calendar for our parish. Then on June 1, 2014, St. Anthony’s will officially mark its 125th anniversary when Bishop LeVoir celebrates the Anniversary Mass at 2 p.m. St. Anthony’s Council of Catholic Women will host a reception following the Anniversary Mass. We look forward to celebrating this momentous year with our parish and our communities. Don’t miss out on the first event. Sign up for your place in the Anniversary Pictorial Directory today.

St. Anthony’s Halo Fun Run

We wish to thank all of our sponsors who made St. Anthony’s first annual Halo Fun Run such a success. We had 22 participants Sunday, Aug. 25, in theW-Halo-Fun-Run Halo Fun Run 5K Run/Walk, and 13 participants in our Lil’ Angels Fun Run for kids up to age 12.

We extend special thanks to Fr. Jack for the Blessing of the Runners, and Dean Stewart, who provided the music and announcements for both events.

Nothing would have been possible without the generous support of our many sponsors. We deeply regret that one of our sponsors – the Knights of Columbus, was not included in the list of sponsors on our T-shirts. We are so grateful for the support of our Knights. They do many good works in our parish, especially for the young people. Their support and leadership is invaluable to our church. Thank you Knights of Columbus Council 11345, and all of our Halo Fun Run sponsors.

St. Anne's parish fall festival was Sunday, Sept. 15

Saint Anne looks on as families from around the area gathered for the last church festival of the season: St. W-DSCF1882Anne’s Fall Festival in Kimball. Wouldn’t you know the rains we’ve waited on for weeks came the night before the festival? It may have dampened the ground, but not the spirits. Watch here next week for results of the raffle.
