Bad roads, high winds cause crash

Wednesday, March 20, shortly after noon, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, St. Martin Fire and Rescue, and Paynesville Ambulance were dispatched to a crash with injuries southwest of St. Martin on CR 32 just east of 278th Ave. in Zion Township. Rebecca Elizabeth Gray, age 19, of St. Martin, was westbound on CR 32 in a white 1994 Ford Crown Victoria, when she lost control of the car on the hard-packed snow and ice. She struck a tan 2000 Buick Century that was driven eastbound by Janet Lee Klein, 57, of Paynesville. Klein, Gray, and Gray’s 2-year old son were treated at the scene by St. Martin Rescue, and taken to the Paynesville Hospital by Paynesville Ambulance for further treatment of their injuries. The road conditions and high winds contributed to the crash.
