KAHS trap Competition week 5


This was our last week of competition. Our Athletes did a great job holding on to their 5th place position in the conference. Next stop is going to be the “Championship” which is Friday, June 6, in Alexandria. There they will compete against everyone in Class A, individually and as a team.

K-EV-W lady golfers compete at Kimball

Kimball Golf Club was the venue for the Thursday, May 22, Central Minnesota Conference girls’ meet. Shooting a magnificent team total 169, Osakis again topped all competitors and claimed yet another first-place finish. Too, the Silverstreaks took Meet Medalist honors, in the name of Alayna Eldred, who fired an impressive 39.

The conference battle included teams from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Kimball-Eden Valley-Watkins, Maple Lake, Pierz, Rockford and Osakis.

K-EV-W boys’ golf team battles at Albion Ridges

The Kimball-Eden Valley-Watkins golfers competed in W-KEVW-Golf-2Central Minnesota Conference action at Albion Ridges Tuesday, May 20. The Meet Medalist honors went to Rockford’s Ty Griffin, who shot a blistering 38.

Meet Results/Team: first, Rockford, 166; second, Maple Lake, 179; third, Osakis, 180; fourth, B-B-E, 188; fifth, K-EV-W, 191; sixth, HL-W-W, 200; seventh, Pierz, 238.

Kimball fastpitch team all systems ‘go’ for playoffs

Tuesday, May 20, Kimball played host to Swanville in the first round of the playoffs.


The Cubs cruised to a 12-3 victory. But Wednesday, the tables were turned on Kimball, when Browerville ambushed them in a 13-4 shellacking.

Swanville game highlights: Madison Schreifels, 2 for 2, 3 runs scored, 1 double; Madison Libbesmeier, 2 for 2, run scored, 2 walks; Lauren Libbesmeier, 2 for 4; Stacy Hurrle, Alexis Rose, Shay Krippner, Emily Utecht, Hayley Schiefelbein, Shelby Schiefelbein, Becky Holtz, and Kenzie Leither each had one hit for the Cubs. The winning pitcher was Alexis Rose, who struck out 15 in 7 innings, walked 2, and faced 32 batters, allowing
7 hits.


EV-W-K track/field teams send 19 to Sections


The Central Minnesota Conference Track & Field Sub-Sections took place at Litchfield, Tuesday, May 20. Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball has 19 tracksters moving on to sections next week. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished second in the eight-team meet. Litchfield won the women’s division, and New London-Spicer took the men’s division.
