Lions Burgers in the Park Aug. 30

The Kimball Lions will provide Lions Burgers in the Park (Willow Creek Park) from 12-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. Proceeds will go toward Kimball Wrestling uniforms.


Kingston Legion and Auxiliary meets Aug. 27

The members of the Kingston Johnson Kelly American Legion Post 483, and the Johnson Kelly American Legion Auxiliary Post 483 will have their annual membership meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Kingston Johnson Kelly Post Legion Hall.

Spouses are invited to attend. Remember to bring items for care packages going to deployed soldiers, also items for the white elephant auction.

ATV safety training Oct. 6

South Haven Sportsman Club will be conducting their fall ATV safety training class starting at

Firearms safety training Sept. 10

The South Haven Sportsman Club will be conducting their fall firearms safety training classes starting Tuesday, Sept. 10. Class dates are
Sept. 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, and 26. Field day will be Saturday, Sept. 28.

American Legion Auxiliary State Convention at Mahnomen

The 94th State Convention for The American Legion Auxiliary was held July 18-20, at Mahnomen, Minn.

Auxiliary member from Kimball, representing the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #261 was LuAnn Marschel.

Raleen Tolzman of Cleveland, Minn., State President of the American Legion Auxiliary, presided. American Legion Department Commander Don Pankake from Hutchinson brought greetings. Martin Warnsholtz, the mayor of the city of Mahnomen, and White Earth Reservation Tribal Council Secretary/Treasurer Robert J. Durant welcomed everyone to Mahnomen. Incoming Honorary Department Junior President, Kaitlin Fernlund, a member of the Waite Park Unit #428, brought greetings from the Junior (members who are under the age of 18) Auxiliary.
