Marty Mudcats strong at State Tournament

The Marty Mudcats 16U Fastpitch Softball team traveled to Ham Lake, Minn., to compete in the Minnesota Metro Fastpitch League (MMFL) 16U State Tournament this past weekend. There were 20 teams from all over Minnesota. The team came out strong in the first game vs North Area, W-MartyMudcats-2014-State-Teamwinning easily 13-0. The second game would prove to be a little tougher, but the Mudcats still came out on top, winning over MN Heat.

The third game of the day was close, but the Mudcats could not come up with the hits when needed, and lost to the Wolfpack from Cottage Grove by one run. Sunday’s first game would be another tough team, but the Mudcats were able to battle back from a four-run deficit to win over the team from New Ulm.
