It appears that Mother Nature has not finished with the Kimball Speechers quite yet. Tuesday, Feb. 19, with snow falling and high winds across south central Minnesota, resulted in several
school closings, including Willmar, where the speechers were planning to compete. With no meet, students instead had a large team practice. Their hard work paid off for them at Maple Lake Saturday, Feb.23.
Together, the team brought home their second first-place trophy in the Small Team category, along with several individual awards. Olivia Straley placed sixth in Storytelling, and Holly Dahlinger and Danielle Helgeson placed third in Humorous and Serious Prose. Katelyn Lichte won third place in Extemporaneous Speaking. Placing second in Serious Drama was Logan Bartholomew, and Maicy Vossen earned a second place in Storytelling. Alissa Jones also placed second in Extemporaneous Reading. Last but far from least, Jonathan Bisila is the Champion in Great Speeches. Congrats to all Kimball Speechers on a great tournament.

We have 20 in our class. This year we are learning multiplication and division, simple algebra, paragraph structure, and the physics of sound.
For our field trip, the third grade will go to the zoo. For a fundraiser, we are collecting Food Club Points. Our class is special because we are hard-working and enthusiastic about learning!
