Monday, March 11, the Eden Valley-Watkins Elementary School presented their Spring Music Program at the high school gymnasium. The theme running through the entire program was a positive one of friendship, kindness, forgiveness, and caring for one another. Directors were Beth Holthaus and Kathy Pauls.
The First Grade students did three pieces: “Be a Friend,” “Put Your Hand In My Hand,” and “Forever Friends”.
Second Grade did their first piece by signing in American Sign Language (ASL) entitled “Make New Friends”. They followed with “Wouldn’t It Be Nice?” and “Agents of Change”.
Third Grade did their first piece “Friendly Sounds” by being divided into three groups presenting rhythmic sounds, slapping their knees, snapping fingers, and keeping a beat with syncopated rhythm. They followed with “It’s Easy To Be Kind” and “Friends Are Like Diamonds”.
Fifth- and Sixth-Grade Choir presented “Alexander’s Ragtime Band featuring Ellie Schmaltz, dancer. They next sang “Go With A Song In Your Heart”.
The combined group finished with “Kids Against Violence”.
