Police Chief Ernie Junker reported on this year’s Midsummer Blast concert fundraiser. Results were less than expected but, he says, they were “still on the positive side.” He requested, and received, permission to schedule next year’s Midsummer Blast for Saturday, Aug. 16 (a weekend with fewer conflicts), and to book a band for the third Saturday in August 2015 (since good bands often are booked out 16 months or more in advance). The same stipulations will apply (rain insurance, repair of field damage if needed).

The board approved the 2013 levy, payable in 2014, with the understanding that the numbers will yet change before it is final.
