My family: I'm married to David Borgert. We have two sons: Andrew and Benjamin, and two graddaughters: Aya and Claire.

My high school: Cathedral High School in St. Cloud.
College: Macalester College: English Language Arts 7-12. St. Cloud State University: Learning Disabilities K-12, Mild-to-Moderate Mentally Handicapped K-12, Secondary Developmental Reading 7-12, Secondary Remedial Reading 7-12, Reading Consultant Pre-K; Master's Degree in Reading.
My academic achievements: LEEA award in 1993 and 2008; KARE 11 Outstanding Teacher (thanks to Susan Knutson's nomination); Golden Apple award from Ashland Oil; diversiCOM Teacher of the Year 2005; EV-W Teacher of the Year 2010; EV-W Superintendent's ROCK award 2013.
Other life achievements: Two wonderful children; two beautiful grandchildren (I guess I can't take any direct credit for the grandchildren); 39 years of marriage to an incredible person; marriage retreat speaker for 12+ years; participant in Minnesota Humanities Institute; judging at the MN State Speech competition; travels on two continents including 27 of our 50 states.
My favorite school experience (as a student): Editor of the high school yearbook my senior year; traveling to New York City for our high school class trip; getting my Master's Degree; opportunities to learn from excellent teachers.
My favorite school experience (as a teacher): Probably the most memorable experience was having Frank Vascellaro arrive in a helicopter to surprise me with KARE 11 award. My favorite experience is getting students interested in and excited about learning. It's also very rewarding when students call, email, or visit after graduation to tel me how well they are doing, or even to ask advice.
Something most people don't know about me: I'm a yoga enthusiast, and I'm shy.
