Fifty-two teams and more than 225 students participated in the EV-W Knowledge Bowl Invitational Saturday, Jan. 18.
St. John’s Prep I captured first place in the varsity division with 103.5 points followed by Sartell I with 99.5 points and Albany I with 97 points. Rounding out the top 10 in varsity were Watertown-Mayer I with 94 points, Tech I with 92 points, St. John’s Prep II with 90.5 points, Rocori with 88 points, Foley with 87.5, Melrose with 86 and EV-W with 83.
The EV-W team was comprised of Cody Asfeld, Brandon Faber, Connor Flaschenriem, Austin Gunderson and Erin Salo. In the junior varsity division, St. John’s Prep JV I placed first with 96 points, followed by St. John’s Prep JV II with 92.5 points and Sartell JV I with 79 points.
A meet consists of a 60-question written round and four 45-question oral rounds. EV-W varsity and junior varsity will be at Kimball Area High School Thursday, Jan. 23, to compete in an 18-team conference tournamen
