The Valley Victors 4-H club met Sunday, March 9, at the Eden Valley Event Center. The meeting started off with snacks and demonstrations. Anthony Schettler showed us how to make a rabbit nest box. Amber Boulten brought in her rabbit, Crisp, and talked about her experience at the fair. We also welcomed our new members Keagan, Brody, and Zach Kramer. Roll Call was “name a state no one else had already said”.
Steve Schmitt from Syngenta and Schmitt Insurance Agency came in to talk about what it takes to start a community business. He shared tips and ideas of what 4-Hers should be thinking about as they prepare for college and a career in either Agriculture or as a business owner. He spoke about the importance of being involved in and giving back to the community you live and work in.
In other reports, Arnie Jr. and Ashley Gruenes shared about their experience at the BLU leadership retreat they attended. Also discussed was our upcoming visit to AirMaXX, county fruit sales, and the success of our county Dairy Bowl teams.
The Valley Victors next meeting will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, April 9, starting at 6:30 p.m.
