Trio to sing National Anthem

A trio of EV-W ninth graders will be singing the National Anthem at the Target Center for the Boys’ Basketball Tournament. Heidi Geislinger, Julia Stotz and Jasmine Miller will be singing courtside for the first session at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, March 23. If you are not attending the tournament, be sure to watch for them on TV.

EV-W Post Prom party raffle

The EV-W Post Prom Committee is holding a raffle as its fundraiser this year. There are many chances to win. Prizes include a $1,500 Grand Prize.

First prize $1,000

Two prizes of $500

Three prizes of $250

Three prizes of $100

Eight prizes of $50

Ten prizes of $25

Only 600 tickets sold, $20 per ticket and must be 18 years old to buy a ticket. Drawing to be held at EV-W High School NHS Spaghetti Supper March 21. Need not be present to win. Tickets can be purchased at Lost & Found, Mike’s Bait and VMG grocery in Eden Valley, or Steins grocery, Flash’s Gas, and Farmers State Bank in Watkins. If questions, please call Jenni Scherer at (320) 980-5588.

EV-W Knowledge Bowl advances to sections

The EV-W Varsity I Knowledge Bowl team was among six teams from the Small School Division to advance from subsection play Friday in St. Cloud.

The team of Deb Holdvogt, Kirby Knutson, Patrick Latcham, Travis Massicotte, and Erin Salo placed sixth with 84 points. The finish earned them a spot in the section Knowledge Bowl tournament Monday, March 18, at Celebration Church in Sartell.

EV-W Classroom of the Week: Mr. Langer's 6th Grade

Sixth grade has art, health, and computers in our room. In art, we will spend time creating mosaics and dream-cathchers.  In health, we will look at personal hygiene and W-Langer-20130311 082909the dangers of drugs and alcohol. We will work with Google Drive on computers and we will create an iMovie.

For our field trip, we will go to the Capitol and Fort Snelling in St. Paul May 23. We also went skiing in December.
