Valley Victors 4-H Club met April 8

The Valley Victors 4-H club held their April meeting April 8, 2013, at the Eden Valley Event Center. Roll call was name something fun to do in the mud. Ashley Gruenes talked to the club about how to bottle feed a calf. Arnie Gruenes showed the club how to make seven layer bars. Anthony Shettler presented a demonstration on showing rabbits. Taylor Ruprecht talked about the show box diorama that she made. Leah Ruprecht showed the club how to make chocolate chip cookies. Gretta Lemke presented a demonstration on fortune tellers. George Lemke gave a demonstration on making survival crafts. Henry Lemke showed the club his food review project.

EV-W presents ‘Leaving Iowa’

The EV-W Drama Club will be presenting the comedy “Leaving Iowa” for their spring production. Public W-EVW-Play-Leaving-Iowa-photo1performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, on the EV-W High School Cafeteria Stage. Tickets will be sold at the door, Adults $5, Students and Senior Citizens $4.

“Leaving Iowa” follows Don Browning as he takes a trip down memory lane while trying to find a suitable place to lay his father’s ashes to rest. He re-lives all the family vacations that he spent with his parents and sister. The places they go and the people they see weave the story together to offer a humorous, touching play.

EV-W Classroom of the Week-Mrs. Rippentrop's Kindergarten

One of the great things about kindergarten is learning to read! We will learn 40 sight words this W-Rippentrop-100 2008year, as well as sounding out words we don't know. In math, we work on numbers to 100, telling time, and naming coins and their values.

Most of all, we learn and practice how to be caring and sharing people.
