Friends of EV Area Library seeking new members

Friends of the Eden Valley Area Library will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 in the library (park behind the building). We are actively seeking new members to join the “Friends of the Library” in any capacity. Annual dues are as low as $5. One meeting per month. Help can be voluntary or financial or both. The Friends of the Library has put on several fun events already and has some exciting things coming up. Please join us.


EV Library has handouts about MNSURE

Eden Valley Area Library has informational handouts about the new MNSURE health care. An informational video is also available to watch via computer. Eden Valley Area Library has three computers available for patrons use if you don’t have one available to you. To access the information, go to:, there is a two-minute video to watch. New Eden Valley Area Library hours are: Tuesdays and Thursdays 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Wednesdays noon-3 p.m., Fridays 5:30-8 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m.-noon.

Local mystery author to visit EV Area Library Sept. 15 2 p.m.

Computer assistance available at Kimball Library

The Kimball Public Library is offering basic computer and Internet help on the first and third Monday of each month, beginning 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16. If you need help setting up an e-mail account, doing a basic web search, using Word or Excel, an experienced volunteer can help you. Please call the library at (320) 398-3915, to make an appointment. Space is limited.

Great River Regional Library (GRRL) provides library services at 32 public libraries in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright Counties. It provides Central Minnesota residents with nearly 1 million books, CDs and DVDs, 250 public computers, programming and information services.

Seed Savers 101 & Perennial Plant Exchange

From 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 7, the Eden Valley Area Library will host Seed Savers 101 & Perennial Plant Exchange at the library.

Grown any giant cucumbers or zucchini lately, or have a favorite tomato? Learn the principles of dry and wet seed saving, seed cleaning, and storage for maintaining good germination rates. Pat & Anne Benson attended a 3-day conference at Seed Savers in Decorah, Iowa, and will be here to share what they learned with you!

Share the bounty of your perennial garden with your neighbors! Please pot or bag and label any plants you’d like to share and leave them outside the library on the sidewalk before 10 a.m. You are welcome to take home anything you would like to add to your garden!
