Lemon Bars

1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. flour
1/4 c. powdered sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. sugar
2 T. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 lemon, juice and rind
Mix butter, flour and powdered sugar unil crumbly. Pat into 9 x 9-inch or 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Sift remaining dry ingredients; add to well-beaten eggs. Add juice and grated rind of lemon. Pour onto baked crust and bake 25 minutes or more at 350 degrees. It's done when top is golden brown. Optional: frost with icing made from powdered sugar, lemon juice and butter.
