Only about four percent of Boy Scouts achieve the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Among the general population, it’s less than one percent.
Hunter Schreifels joined an elite group Sunday afternoon at the Boy Scout Honor Court, a ceremony officially making him an Eagle Scout.
A public service project is part of the process getting to Eagle Scout. Hunter’s project was completed this past summer. He expanded the overhang over the concession stand at the Pearl Lake ball park, extending it about 10 feet to be even facing the field. He also put cement under the overhang, and there’s a fresh coat of paint on everything. The overhang project provides a place for fans to get out of the sun or rain.
The students at Holy Cross Catholic School celebrated Catholic Schools Week last week. As part of their service project, the kids made seven fleece-tie blankets. These adorable blankets are being donated to New Beginnings in
St. Cloud. Submitted photo.

Holy Cross Catholic School in Marty has exceeded their financial goal for the 2013 Pray and Walk-A-Thon. In the beginning of September, students and their families contacted local companies, friends and families and asked for donations for the annual Pray and Walk-A-Thon. Saturday, Oct. 12,
the families and staff walked around Pearl Lake and stopped and read the prayers and intentions from those who donated.
