In order to recognize achievement, outstanding progress, and responsible behavior in our student body, grade-level teams made up of teachers select one Kimball Area High School student in each grade to be recognized as the Student of the Month. The monthly winners are recognized in school, on the school website, and in the Tri-County News. They also receive a Subway gift certificate and Chamber Bucks from the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. Special thanks to Luxemburg’s Subway and the Kimball Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this program. The following students are recognized for March 2013:
Grade 7—Kenzie Leither
Most of the time, Kenzie quietly leads by example; however, she is not afraid to speak her mind when necessary. She uses her class time well and even studies by her locker before school. Kenzie finishes her assignments on time and is thorough with her answers.
Grade 8—Billy Tadych
Billy Tadych has been chosen for the 8th grade student of the month. Billy is a positive influence in the classroom with his academics and his peers. He is a “steady,” hard working student who continues to be concerned about his academic success. Billy takes responsibility for the work that he does and the actions he takes in and out of school. He is proud to excel at all he does which makes him a great role model for his peers. Billy is a natural problem solver. He is currently working as a peer mentor and has received positive recognition for this from students and staff. Good job Billy! Thanks for all you do!
Grade 9—Sawyer Mies
Sawyer Mies has been selected to be the 9th grade representative based upon respectfulness, ability to work with others, and willingness to learn. He consistently is a responsible student and has worked hard to focus on attention to detail. Sawyer’s politeness, which has shown through interactions with other students and staff, is appreciated. Sawyer also promotes honesty and trustworthiness as character traits.
Grade 10—Tyler Smith
Tyler has a wonderful sense of humor. He is just a “nice guy” who is always willing to help people. He is a self-motivated individual who is passionate about goals, both academically and athletically. He is a self-starter and works well with everyone. Tyler sets a great example to the rest of his classmates and is a role model to underclassmen as well.
Grade 11—Lexi Rose
Lexi Rose has been selected as March’s Student of the Month for the junior class. Throughout the school year, Lexi has conscientiously worked hard to be successful in her academics. She completes her work with quality, she is focused in class, and she isn’t afraid to ask questions or share her opinions in class discussions. She is also polite and respectful in class. Lexi is equally busy outside of the classroom. Lexi is a three-sport athlete who spends much of her own time working to improve her skills. Her off-season is just as busy as her in-season. Lexi’s commitment to her academics and her athletics make her stand out as a positive role model for other KAHS students and athletes. Congratulations to Lexi.
Grade 12—Kyleigh Eisenbraun
The senior class teachers have picked Kyleigh Eisenbraun because every experience with her is simply pleasant. She is a very nice young lady that works very hard. Her dedication to yearbook is impressive when so many have dropped out. She is very positive and holds herself accountable, not offering up any excuses to explain her actions. She will work with all and is nice to all. Kyleigh is a very positive person.
