Teachers and staff at Kimball Elementary waved to students as buses whisked them home on the last day of this school year. The day can be bittersweet, saying “good-byes” at least for the summer. For students, the excitement of the last day of school is always mixed with a tinge of fear for what comes next, but they’ll worry about that in 89 days when school starts again in the fall.
(Inset photo below: clearly, it’s not only students who are happy the year is over. Sixth-grade teacher Mary Bernardy started the “happy dance” after the last bus left.) Staff photo by Jean Doran Matua.
