First class in KAHS history to have three graduating seniors who are Eagle Scouts

By Bill Liedman, Scoutmaster

Saturday, June 22, at the home of Scott and Lisa Harter, the Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held for Alex Harter. Alex earned his Eagle award upon completion of 21 merit badges and also completed his Eagle Scout project. The Eagle Scout project consists of planning, acquiring funds, purchasing materials, and building the project while demonstrating good leadership qualities.

Alex built a new aluminum can recycling trailer for the Kimball community. This trailer is located in the northeast corner of Schmidty’s Tesoro. Proceeds from the sale of recycled aluminum cans supports the local Boy Scout troop. Funds to build the trailer were acquired from the Kimball Fire Department, the Kimball Rod and Gun Club, and Alex’s grandfather, Duwayne Orbeck.

During the ceremony, Alex’s mother, Lisa, pinned the Eagle Emblem over his heart.

Eagle Austin Roerick, Senior Patrol Leader Keali’I Kapoi, Troop Chaplain Aide Everett Eken, Alex, Scoutmaster Bill Liedman, and Eagle Scout Brad Mies are Troop members who took part in Alex’s Eagle Ceremony.
