Kimball’s March 2014 Students of the Month

In order to recognize achievement, outstanding progress, and responsible behavior in our student body, grade-level teams made up of teachers select one Kimball Area High School student in each grade to be recognized as the Student of the Month. The monthly winners are recognized in school, on the school website, and in the Tri-County News. They also receive a Dairy Queen gift certificate and Chamber Bucks from the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. Special thanks to the Kimball Chamber of Commerce and a private donor for sponsoring this program. The following students are recognized for March 2014:

Krista shows her maturity by being a problem-solver and attempting a task before asking for help. Staying involved in a variety of school activities is one more reason Krista was selected for this honor.

Grade 8–Mackenzie Leither

The eighth-grade team is proud to announce that Mackenzie Leither is the eighth-grade March Student of the Month. Mackenzie works hard every day; she listens, comes to class with all her materials, and is always ready to learn. She is quiet, yet assertive if she has a question or needs help. Mackenzie’s polite and humble demeanor makes her an easy choice for Student of the Month honors.

She promotes creativity in problem solving, collaborating with her peers and respecting the learning environment around her. She holds others accountable and has done a phenomenal job holding herself to those high standards also.
Caitlin is a deserving student for this award.

As a student, she wants to know the right answer and uses her resources to get those right answers. She is definitely a role model for her peers. Her choice to take ownership has been noticed and appreciated by her teachers.

Grade 11–Krista Anderson

Krista Anderson has been nominated as the junior class’ student of the month for March. Krista’s teachers have noticed that all year long she has been consistent and mature in her efforts toward academic achievement. Krista takes ownership of her learning and strives to understand concepts, participate well in class discussions, complete timely quality work, and help others in need. She has even stepped into leadership roles where she has spoken “courageously” about her ideas. Even when she knows she will be absent, Krista makes sure she gets assignments in advance and then has them completed upon returning to school. Krista’s teachers appreciate her diligence, perseverance, and conscientious efforts. What a fine role model for our students here at KAHS!
