May 8: Christian Women meet

Flowers, glorious flowers... lift the spirits and remind us that spring is here! Join us ladies, for the “Flower Power!” brunch held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Reichel’s Event Center, Annandale. The Flower Depot of Annandale will be the feature and our amazing yodeling friend Joy Berg of Hutchinson will share her unique musical talent. Speaker Donna Yecke of Red Wing will speak about her search for meaning and satisfaction in life in her talk “What is it all About?”  Don’t miss this event. May 1: National Day of Prayer

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball will have their doors open for prayer from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All are welcome to come.

Thursday, May 1, Anyone can come and spend time in the Lord’s house in silent prayer. Come and go when you choose.

If you can’t come to church, take time out of your day to pray on May 1, for our country and other concerns in your heart.

History of National Day of Prayer

In 1775, the Continental Congress allocated a time for prayer in forming a new nation. Over the years, there have been calls for a day of prayer, including President Abraham Lincoln in 1863.

Holy Cross Parish welcomes Mike Beardsley, Bill Dehkes, and Mark Meier from the Face It Foundation for an evening of stories, fellowship, and an honest discussion about depression and suicide.

April 26: Fourth Annual Guatemala Gala

The Fourth Annual Guatemala Gala is planned for 4-7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Church of Our Lady Manannah.

There will be a free-will buffet with pulled pork, chips, beans, beverages and bars.

Bring your children, there will be children’s games, silent auction, and raffle.
