Spring is here, even if snow is still is the forecast. And as the sun shines for longer periods each day, the bright colors of the season will soon be in full display. Yes, the flowers will be in bloom, and so too will be the young ladies and gentlemen as they prepare for another spring tradition: Prom.
The 2014 Prom Committee is hard at work creating decorations and finalizing plans for this year’s Prom. This year, the junior class is taking it back to the time of the flapper girl and the speak easy, back to classy 1920s of “The Great Gatsby.”
Friday, May 2, at 1:15 p.m. Kimball Elementary School will present their annual Spring concert, “Sing America Sing”. The concert will be a tribute to all veterans, featuring many patriotic songs, including an audience sing along. Grades K-6 will perform along with some vocal soloists and pianists. Arlene Sands is the director and invites all veterans to attend, being “Guests of Honor”. This program will be held in the Kimball Elementary Gym.
Thursday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. the Kimball Senior Choir will present it’s annual Spring concert including numbers by the choir that received State Superior Awards, (the highest possible award given at contest), plus State Superior awarded soloists and ensembles. This concert will be performed in the high school cafetorium.
Director Arlene Sands invites and encourages you to attend for an enjoyable evening.
Kimball FFA promotes agricultural awareness during FFA week. Activities included bale toss, lunch challenges, and drive your tractor to school. Members compete at State FFA Convention April 27-29.
Chartered in 1939, the Kimball FFA is a long standing tradition in our community. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Kimball FFA. We will celebrate this milestone with an ice cream and dessert social at
2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Kimball Area High School Cafeteria. There will be several old scrapbooks, awards, and memorabilia on display. Additionally, we will celebrate the accomplishments of our current FFA members with an awards program and listen to alumni members share their FFA experiences. Please join us in celebrating 75 years of Kimball FFA! The public is welcome.

Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. Kimball Community Education will present “Dateline Rock ’n Roll” performed by the Kimball Youth choir, grades 3-6, directed by Arlene Sands, Kimball Area Vocal Music Specialist. Starting the program will be a dance group directed by Cathy Olson, Community Education Program Coordinator followed by the choir. The program will also include vocal soloists. This will be held in the cafetorium at Kimball Area High School.
After having to wait an extra four weeks due to weather issues, the following Kimball band students were finally able to perform their solo and ensemble music for state-section ratings and receive some wonderful feedback from an adjudicator at Annandale HS Tuesday, April 15.
