EV-W girls’ basketball starts with first-week split

W-EVW-Girls-BB-Vs-NLS-IMG 8972Coming off an amazing effort last year, finishing undefeated (14-0) in conference play, with an impressive 21-5 overall mark, the lady Eagles look to keep their winning ways. Traveling to Litchfield on Tuesday, Dec. 3, EV-W managed to edge out the Dragons, 37-31. 

Eden Valley-Watkins then hosted the New London-Spicer Wildcats on Friday, Dec. 6, and dropped a tough one, 53-40. Junior guard Mikayla Kummet topped the Eagles’ scorers with 11 points and freshman Elaina Stommes poured in 10. Senior forward snatched nine boards in the loss. The Wildcats’ senior guard Taylor Thunstedt reached the 2,000-point mark for her career, after hitting a second-half bomb from beyond the arc. The Eagles will host Benson Tuesday, Dec. 10.
