Lady Eagles’ basketball team suffers last-second loss

The Eden Valley-Watkins basketball girls traveled to Howard Lake Thursday, Jan. 30, to take on the league-leading W-EVW-Girls-BB-IMG 9970-croppedLakers. A well-played game, Eagles’ senior Dani Nelson was sharp, leading all scorers with 18 points. But her potentially game-winning shot at the buzzer fell short, giving
Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted the 56-55 victory.  The Lakers (7-0 CMC, 14-1) were led by seniors Abby Miller and Gabby Gruenhagen, and sophomore Cozy Eastman, who all finished with 13 points. The Eagles move to 9-4 overall and they stand at 4-2 in the Central Minnesota Conference.
