Lady Cubs defeat Johnnies on Senior Night (basketball)

The Kimball seniors played their final game at home Monday, Feb. 25, against St. John’s Prep in a non-conference matchup.

St. John’s started hot, making seven of their first eight shots from the floor, resulting in an early lead for the Johnnies. Offensive firepower for the Cubs answered as Allie Seth scored 12 first-half points, and Casie Mackereth scored 9 first-half points, sparking Kimball to a 28-26 halftime lead. Kimball continued to wear down St. John’s in the second half, as they built on their lead, and finished the regular season on a winning note by a final score of 62-44. Seth led all scorers with 25 points, followed by Breane Meierhofer’s 12 points. Casie Mackereth finished with 9, Kenadi Mackereth 8, Paiten Schreiner 3, Madelyn O’Brien 3, and Kaylee Petty 2. Rebounding leaders were Seth with nine and Meierhofer eight. Meierhofer also had eight assists, while Kenadi Mackereth had four. Steals leaders were Meierhofer with five and Raelynn Callander with three. Kimball finishes the regular season with an 11-13 overall record.

I would like to thank all the seniors: Raelynn Calllander, Breane Meierhofer, Kenadi Mackereth, Paiten Schreiner, Alissa Jones, Casie Mackereth, Kaylee Petty, Allie Seth, Malina Röettgermann, and Managers Kyleigh Eisenbraun and Kendra Atherton, for all their hard work and dedication.
