Sophomore, Nicole Vossen represented Kimball Eden Valley Watkins Girls Golf at the Class AA Minnesota State High School Golf State Tournament Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11-12, held at Ridges of Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn. Nicole shot an 18-hole score of 88 (43-45) in the first round of play. This is Nicole’s first State tournament appearance and she played well despite her nerves. The second round of play began with a rain delay for both boys and girls. After waiting five hours, the committee decided to play only 9 holes, making the tournament a 27-hole event. The boys teed off the back nine, while the girls played difficult and very tight back nine. Nicole finished the day with a respectable 45, with a final score of 133 placing her 43 of 88 participants. Vossen had a great experience and she looks forward to trying again next year.
