The Kimball Area Cubs volleyball girls entered the Dassel-Cokato tournament Saturday, Sept. 28, and showed well, winning two of four matches. They beat Eden Valley-Watkins and St. Cloud Tech. Their two losses came at the hands of host Dassel-Cokato and a good Sibley bunch. “The tournament was a great time, and the team played together with everyone using their individual skill sets,” Cubs’ coach Scott Heinen said. He said the girls personality traits of determination, celebration, encouragement, and competitiveness were instrumental in how well they played.
“Our emotion and energy provided the necessary components to play as an 11-player team, and finish with good play all day. We got some positive wins with the focus on our upcoming run to this last month,” said coach Heinen.
(Also note: Congratulations to the JV volleyball team on a second-place finish).
