The Kimball Area volleyball team had a road trip scheduled last week, and the first stop was at Annandale for a non-conference match Tuesday, Sept. 24. Despite Madison and Macey Hurrle’s 15 and 20 kills, respectively, the Cubs were topped by the Cardinals 3-1. (22-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-21). Kimball’s Alexis Rose had 11 digs and went 15-15 serving, and Hollie Donnay finished with 35 set assists. Coach Scott Heinen says there’s plenty of time left to have a successful season. “Annandale was a good opponent and the Kimball community was a great crowd. It was a tough loss, as we are looking to rebound for the next part of our season. We have a month left and the most crucial part at the end of next month. We will continue to strive to be ready for playoff volleyball.”
