Soon after the Star Spangled Banner ended, the score was 27-0, in favor of the bad guys. The Kimball Cubs ended up on the short end of a 48-12 Holdingford thrashing last Friday, Oct. 4. Alumni abound for Homecoming as they witnessed the conference-leading Huskers’ quarterback Mitch Messman testing the airwaves and landing two touchdown passes, en route to a game total 223 passing yards. The Cubs managed a couple of TDs from Mathies Hennen and Ben Serbus, in the second and fourth quarters. Now 0-6, Kimball plays at neighboring Eden Valley-Watkins on Friday, Oct. 11, while the 6-0 Huskers host Maple Lake.
