Capping off a winning week, the Kimball Cubs’ volleyball team put the icing on the cake, Saturday, Oct. 5, taking third place and going 3-1 in the Braham Tournament. The girls looked ready to play and it showed, as they beat the Zimmerman Thunder, the Barnum Bombers, and the Princeton Tigers. Their only loss came at the hands of the hosts, a very tough Braham bunch with a lot of talent. Cubs’ coach Scott Heinen sees the value of teamwork portrayed by his group. “In the last week, we have won seven out of the ten matches we have played. We do not find it a coincidence. We together are continuing to grow with each person and their roles are critical to our success. Together, we will fight to the end of the season. We are the team we are, because of each person’s contributions, and we love it!”
