The Kimball Cubs’ volleyball team finished out the regular season in fine fashion, prevailing over Upsala, 3-1 and Eden Valley-Watkins, 3-0. The home victory vs. the Cardinals on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and the Thursday, Oct. 10, win at the Eagles’ moves the Cubs to a respectable 11-13 season mark. Junior Macey Hurrle batted 19 kills to boost Kimball past Upsala. Game scores were 23-25, 25-21, 25-16, and 25-17. Coach Scott Heinen sums it up. “A fun night! We recognized our great parents and honored our seniors; Shelby Schiefelbein, Hollie Donnay, Alexis Rose, Rebecca Frank, and Stacy Hurrle. They have set an example that makes us proud to coach them and for others to model. We played a good match and furthered
our journey to playing team volleyball (and our best volleyball), preparing for a long journey into the playoffs.”

Sweeping the Eagles of Eden Valley-Watkins Thursday, Oct. 10, the Kimball Cubs put an exclamation point on the season, taking the road victory, 25-23, 25-19, and 25-20. Kimball was led by senior Hollie Donnay’s 27 set assists. Junior Macey Hurrle came up with a block and 12 big kills, as younger sister, freshman Madison, pounded down nine kills and scooped up four digs.
