Kimball grapplers lose to KMS

Injuries and flu bugs are part to blame for the Cubs’ 52-19 loss at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg,
Tuesday, Dec. 17.  The guys put up a valiant effort, and certain individuals excelled. Kimball junior Blane Tschida claimed his 100th-career win, with a convincing 9-3 decision over Casey Thorson. Senior Austin Schiefelbein had a huge pin over the number-one ranked kid in the state, Chase Norton, at 220 pounds in class A. “As a team, we are wrestling better, and on Friday we look to get a couple more kids back from injury and sickness before the Christmas break. It is early in the season, and we are improving every day, and should be ready by the end of the year to make a good run,” said Mike Schindler.

Results:  106-pound Payton Schiefelbein, PIN; 220-pound Austin Schiefelbein, PIN; 126-pound Blane Tschida, DEC; 152-pound Markus Mehr, DEC. The Cubs travel to Paynesville Friday, Dec. 20, for the last match of the year.
