The Kimball wrestling crew got back on the winning track Friday, Dec. 20, after journeying to Paynesville and handling the Bulldogs, 39-36. Cubs’ coach Mike Schindler was pleased with the entire team effort. “We were able to get back into the win column against our first section opponent last Friday in Paynesville, who are also ranked in the Lean and Mean in class A. We still have a few kids out, but the rest of the team stepped up and got the job done.” Kimball enters the Christmas break with a 2-7 record and looks forward to competing in the second half of the season with a healthy team. Following the Holiday hiatus, the Cubs open up with an Individual Tournament in Cannon Falls Saturday, Jan. 4, and a battle with conference and section rival Eden Valley-Watkins Tuesday, Jan. 7.
“Against EV-W, we will be having alumni night as well, so we encourage any former wrestlers from either team to come out and support their current team,” said Coach Schindler.
