KAHS Trap Team qualifies June 6 for state

Friday, June 6, the Kimball Area High school Trap Team traveled to Alexandria to compete against the 66 teams that make up the class A division. They sent 18 shooters and our top five qualified as a team finishing in the top nine. The  Shooters on the State Tournament team are Cole Czech, Isaiah Ehlinger, Matt Donnay, Zach Stein and Jake Borman.

Backups will be Samuel Ehlinger and Tanner Schreifels. Coaches are Rob Kuechle and Mike Truenow. This is pretty awesome being this is the first year we have competed. Also, none of this would have been possible without all the support from the Kimball Rod and Gun Club.

The results are in! The Kimball Cubs Trap Team qualified for the top nine teams in Class A. We posted a score of 455 points. This means that our top five shooters will be competing this upcoming Saturday, June 14, in Prior Lake. This will be the Minnesota State High School Tournament.

Friday’s tournament was the “Championship” Tournament. Everyone should be proud of our athletes for making the top nine list, there’s 66 schools in Class A.

The full list with scores is posted at

We will keep in touch on the State Tourney. Everyone is welcome to come and watch our competitors shoot. Looks like it starts at 9 a.m. and awards ceremony at 1 p.m.
