K-EV-W golfer Nicole Vossen heading to state competition

The Kimball-Eden Valley-Watkins lady golfers participated in the 6AA Section meet at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell Monday and Tuesday, June 3 and 4. 

After a weather-shortened final round, Nicole Vossen emerged as the fifth-place finisher, with a blistering two-over-par 38. W-Girls-Golf-IMG957854

“Nicole Vossen advanced to the State Tournament with a second-day score of a 38, giving her a total of 120 for the tournament. She placed fifth individually in the section. Paiten Schreiner finished her senior season strong and shot a 46, giving her a total of 137,” coach Kristine O’Brien said.

Connor Wittenberg takes fifth in State hurdles

Connor Wittenberg competed in the 110M hurdles for EV-W-K Track and Field in the State competition at Hamline University this past weekend, June 7-8. 

He made the finals with a preliminary time of 15.61. In the finals, he finished fifth overall with a 15.88-second time. W-ConnorWittenberg

Schlueter heads to State Tourney

Senior Austyn Schlueter came into this year’s Track season with a goal of making it to State in Shotput and breaking the school record.  He broke the school W-AustynSchlueterrecord early in the season and would break his own record a few more times throughout the season.  But at Sections he crushed the old school record of  45’ 10” with a state qualifying throw of 51’ 1/2”.
